Young glass artist Wang Qin is listed as one of the '20 people burning up the Shanghai art scene' in this CNNGO article.
Wang
Qin is a talented young artist with a master’s degree in glass from Shanghai University. He is currently teaching at
the glass studio of the Fine Arts College of Shanghai University. Wang studied
ceramics at the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, and his training in clay is
evident in his glass work. The materials’ rich textures create a warm sense of
his personal touch; a serene state of mind is seen through the transparency of
glass. The beauty of traditional calligraphy and the desire for a peaceful
state of mind are communicated through his series “Calligraphy or Not?” and
“Summer Sitting.” Simple black colors
mixed and mingled with clear glass create landscapes and patterns that are
abstract and enticing.
